Besides long-lasting protection and incredible water beading is the incredible GLOSS the 3D Ceramic Coating creates on your car’s finish! The gloss is so intense, a better word to describe it is a glassy look. 3D’s Ceramic Coating is a professional grade coating that’s easy enough to apply that anyone can do it even if it’s their very first time using a ceramic coating. And “yes” the protection and longevity far exceeds that of car waxes and synthetic paint sealants. And “yes”, the water beading is insane! But it’s the glass-like appearance that will impress you and your friends the most.

Besides the glassy look, the long-lasting protection and incredible water beading, here are some other great features,

Your car will stay cleaner longer - Because of the super hydrophobic surface 3D Ceramic Coating creates, dirt, dust, pollen, road grime, industrial fallout and airborne pollution are a lot less likely to stick or bond to the paint surface.

Self-cleaning effect - The super hydrophobic surface beads water so well, that anytime it rains the rainwater will bead-up and then run of your car flushing and rinsing away any dirt or dust accumulation. It’s like Mother Nature washes your car for you!

Faster, safer washing and faster and easier drying - The high surface tension created by 3D Ceramic Coating makes water want to physically get away from the finish. This makes future washing faster and also safer as the 9h Mohs Hardness helps to resist marring during the washing and drying process. And because the surface of your car’s paint will have such a high surface tension finish – water will rather absorb into your favorite drying towel instead of remaining on the paint.

Forced Air Drying - The safest way to dry any vehicle after the 3D Ceramic Coating is installed, is to use a cordless leaf blower. For example, the cordless EGO 650CFM Leaf Blower offers 180 mile per hour wind speeds of clean, filtered air. This leaf blower or any quality air blower will effortlessly blast any standing water off your car’s finish. This is one of the really cool features about the 3D Ceramic Coating because anytime you can avoid touching the finish you reduce the risk of introducing any accidental marring, swirls, or scratches.

Intense Glassy Deep Wet Shine! - While all of the above features are great in and of themselves, the feature you’re going to love the most is the liquid glassy look the coating creates on your vehicles paint. Your car’s paint will literally look like it just rolled out of the paint booth with that wet-paint-look that comes from a professional custom paint job.

What is it? - 3D Paint Coating is specialty polymer resin and a true ceramic coating.

What does it do? - Seals your car's paint using a liquid polymer which cures to a flexible solid.

When do you use it? - 3D Ceramic Coating is for paint in new or excellent condition or after neglected paint has been properly cleaned, clayed and any paint correction steps are performed. 3D Ceramic Coating must be applied to paint in perfect condition for maximum product performance.

Why use 3D Ceramic Coating over other options? - First – the Founder and CEO of 3D, Tunch Gorin, (also the lead chemist for the 3D R&D Team), his own personal rule for his company means he will not bring any product out to the market unless it is the best in its category.

Once the first ceramic coatings started appearing in the marketplace, it wasn’t much longer before the market was flooded with products claiming to be ceramic coatings. The consumer has no idea which of any of these products is the real-deal or if any given brand is a lesser product based upon common and inexpensive amino functional silicone fluids or other inexpensive ingredients.

For the above reasons and while hundreds of me-too coatings were being introduced, Tunch and his team took their time to create their own true ceramic coating starting from scratch. The end result is the 3D Ceramic Coating.

The 3D Ceramic Coating is the real-deal. It’s based on SiO2, which stands for Silicon Dioxide, but it is NOT a SiO2 coating. SiO2 is more of the carrying-agent for the final product after it’s super-heated and mixed with Titanium Dioxide or TiO2. The resulting combination creates a true ceramic coating, which dries completely hard after full cure.

3D on the outside of the bottle means you can trust the product on the inside of the bottle.

  • True ceramic coating with true 9h hardness
  • Has a melting point of 4,950 degrees Fahrenheit (2,730 degrees Celsius) and the resulting finish is a 9 on the Mohs Hardness Scale.
  • Superior gloss that holds up over time much better than competitors.
  • Superior paint adhesion, which maximizes coating longevity.
  • 3D Ceramic Coating creates an incredibly high contact angle, which creates an insane super-water-beading-hydrophobic-surface, where the water beads are tight, tall, and small.
  • Creates a self-cleaning effect any time it rains for a cleaner car.
  • Makes future washing and drying faster, safer, and easier
  • 2-year protection and even longer – depends on how car is washed.
  • Green technology, Earth friendly – Prop 65 and V.O.C. compliant.

Instructions for Use:

IMPORTANT: Always work on a cool clean surface in the shade. The surface must be completely clean and decontaminated.

Step 1: Using multiple clean microfiber towels, prep the car’s paint by carefully wiping it down using 3D WIPE. This is a paint-safe water-based solvent that removes any unwanted residues that could interfere with the proper bonding of the 3D Ceramic Coating to the paint surface.

Step 2: Wrap the 3D Suede Applicator around the 3D foam block and apply enough coating to cover the flat surface of the suede cloth.

Step 3: Start at the highest point, (usually the roof) and work your way down and around the vehicle. After the roof, coat horizontal panels like the hood and trunk lid next. After the horizontal panels, tackle vertical panels like fenders, doors, hatchbacks, and the grill area. Divide larger panels into smaller sections, no larger than 2’ by 2’ and work section-by-section. 3D Ceramic Coating can be used on all painted surfaces as well as other hard smooth surfaces.

Step 4: Using a crosshatch pattern (side-to-side and then front-to-back strokes), spread the coating evenly over a section of paint.

Step 5: Wait 30 to 45 seconds and then gently wipe the treated area with a clean, soft microfiber towel. Use available ambient light or light from a handheld source, carefully inspect this area to make sure there are no high spots left on the surface. If you discover any high spots, simply re-wipe this area with a clean, soft microfiber towel.

Step 6: Continue working around the car and add more coating to the suede applicator as needed. If you see the suede applicator become contaminated, switch to the other side or switch to a new, clean suede applicator cloth.

Note: Temperature, humidity and air-currents can affect how quickly the coating will flash and cure. Pay attention and keep in mind that this coating is chemically engineered to bond to the paint instantly. In normal climates you can begin wiping and leveling the coated surface plus remove any excess in 30 seconds. In warmer, hotter, dryer and windy environments you should stick to the 30 to 45 second recommendation, in other words, don’t wait too long. For colder, more humid climates you can wait a little longer but there is no need.

Full Cure Time - After the final wipe, do not wash the car or drive in inclement weather for at least 72 hours, (3 days), and optimum wait time is 5 days, (120 hours).

Recommended Maintenance - The 3D Ceramic Coating is incredibly stout and resistant to chemical attack and physical degradation via micro-abrading from contact-abrasion like washing and wiping the paint. That said, you must still wash the coated vehicle regularly to keep the surface clean and wash it carefully so as not to mar or scratch the coating.

Additional Information:

Anything that touches the paint must be clean, soft, and contaminant-free - Before washing your car, or before using any microfiber towel to apply or remove any product, including any drying towels, first inspect the wash mitt or towels and ensure they are not contaminated. Here at 3D, we highly recommend you inspect your wash mitts and towels both visually and tactically, this mean lay these items out on a clean surface and after looking at them, next feel them with your clean hands.

If you see or feel anything that is hard, sharp, or pokey pick it out with your fingers or a set of tweezers. If you cannot remove the particulate or contaminant, then do not use this wash mitt or towel on your car’s coated finish.

Remember, it takes hours to properly prepare a car for a ceramic coating and then install the ceramic coating and only seconds to put scratches back into the car because something that “touched” the paint with was contaminated.

Washing - Here at 3D, we recommend any of our 3D washes including the 3D Pink Car Soap or the 3D Wash N Wax. These car wash soaps provide excellent lubrication and cleaning ability to properly maintain the 3D Ceramic Coating. The best and safest way to wash a ceramic coated car is the traditional water hose and bucket method.

Avoid these car wash options - We do not recommend taking your car to any type of automatic car wash. We also do not recommend taking your car to a Hand Car Wash unless you require the employees to use clean, uncontaminated wash mitts and drying towels that you provide. Also, be sure they empty any previously used buckets of car wash soap then clean the buckets to remove any dirt removed off of previously washed vehicles. You should verify the buckets are clean and then have the attendants mix up a fresh solution of water and car wash soap. We recommend you bring your 3D car wash soap and ask them to use it. Keeping you ceramic coating in pristine condition means taking control of the washing process and any manner in which the paint is touched.

Spray-on products - In-between a normal wash job, you can clean your ceramic coated vehicle using any of these 3D products. It’s important to know, that spray-on products are primarily for removing light dust, fingerprints, and smudges. These products are not intended for or formulated for cars with visible dirt or caked-on mud.

Coin-Op Self Car Wash – The Forgotten Option - If your ceramic coated car is visibly dirty and you are not able to wash your car at home with a traditional water hose and wash bucket approach, we recommend you find a Coin-Op Self Car Wash and take your own 3D car wash soap, buckets, wash mitts and drying towels with you. Use the Coin-Op Self Car Wash because it offers a source of running water. Be sure to take plenty of quarters. 12

3D BEAD IT UP - For only lightly dusty vehicles, the best product to use is the 3D BEAD IT UP. This product was specifically formulated to be used as a spray detailer to clean ceramic coated cars and also as a booster product to restore and maintain the hydrophobic surface. It also adds lots of gloss while restoring and maintaining slickness.

3D Spray Detailer - Like 3D BEAD IT UP, this product is only for lightly dusty car and to remove fingerprints and smudges. This is a silicone-free formula that offers excellent lubricity and cleaning while also adding gloss, shine, and slickness. This product is also an excellent clay lube when doing paint correction.

3D Waterless Car Wash - The 3D Waterless Car Wash is a superior product in the waterless car wash category. This product would be a great option to clean your ceramic coated car. This product has more cleaning and lubricating ability than our 3D Spray Detailer and also 3D BEAD IT UP. It’s a perfect choice for lightly dusty cars but if used heavy or wet, it is capable of cleaning cars that are more than lightly dirty but still not for vehicles with visible dirt, caked-on mud, or a build-up of road grime from wet winter driving.

Use common sense when selecting the appropriate product to clean your car’s ceramic coated finish.
